During the inspection, officials detected multiple violations, including the sale of unstamped, substandard and unhygienic meat, improper storage conditions, absence of valid licenses, and failure to maintain cleanliness as per regulatory norms.

As a result, approx. 1.5 quintals of substandard meat was seized and safely disposed of as per protocol.

In addition, fine amounting to Rs.12000/-was also imposed on several defaulting shopkeepers in accordance with the JK Municipal corporation Act-2000.

Speaking on the crackdown, Dr Jaswant Singh said that ensuring the availability of safe, hygienic, and quality meat is our top priority. Such inspections will continue regularly, and stringent action will be taken against those who violate public health standards.

However, there is one question on Dr Jaswant Sing, that is fines & seizing shall served the purpose for providing "Poisonous Food Item" to public causing hazardous impact on health of general public, why FIRs for providing slow poison to general public.

He further urges the public to purchase meat only from authorized and hygienically maintained shops and to report any suspicious or unhygienic practices into the notice of JMC.
