Chandigarh, Nov 08: The Election Commission of India has issued directions for the suspension of Tarn Taran Senior Superintendent of Police, Ravjot Kaur Grewal with immediate effect.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has been assigned the additional charge of SSP, Tarn Taran.
The action has been taken on the complaint of Shiromani Akali Dal which has alleged that Ravjot Grewal and two other police officers were favoring Aam Aadmi Party in Tarn Taran ahead of the November 11 Assembly by-election in the border district.
