Dr Bharat Bushan , MLA Kathua assures all help to cloudburst hit people

KATHUA, Sept 5: Member Legislative Assembly, Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan today visited Bagra village of Janglote Panchayat of Kathua where cloud burst played havoc on night of August 16.

MLA Kathua was accompanied by Raghunandan Singh Bablu, Vice Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kathua, Ravinder Sharma Sittu former President Municipal Committee Lakhanpur, Kaka Ram former Vice President, Municipal Committee, Lakhnapur, Dr. Shiv Kumar, president, Shree Guru Nabha Dass Ji Maharaj Kalyan Parishad, Kathua, Anil Khajuria district secretary, BJP, Youth activist Sidhant Sharma and locals of the village.

Dr. Bharat Bhushan and his team trekked four Kms from Janglote South to reach the ill fated village where two lives were lost in cloud burst of August 16 besides injuring over a dozen others. MLA met the villagers and inspected the four houses which were totally damaged besides the six partially damaged houses.

The houses at the top of the village are on the verge of collapse any time from back side as massive landslide has eroded the landscape of the village. The team distributed the daily essentials besides ration among eleven worst affected families.

MLA also enquired about Government help received by them till date. Earlier MLA had sent Solar lights to the village. He also directed electricity Department to speed up the electricity restoration work as the four solar lights given to the village earlier are not sufficient for village having 16 houses.

The concerned officials of PDD are working and it is expected that light to the village will be resorted within a day or two. Dr. Bharat Bhushan, MLA Kathua told the villagers that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is very concerned about their welfare and reconstruction.

He assured all possible help to the villagers of Bagra.
