DC Reasi  emphasizes that all departments must work in close coordination

Reasi, September 1: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik (IAS), today chaired a meeting to review the damages and pace of restoration works in the district following continuous rainfall. The Deputy Commissioner assessed the restoration status in key sectors including PHE, JPDCL, PWD, and PMGSY.

She directed the PMGSY Executive Engineer to ensure adequate stock of material for road clearance and instructed that all motorable roads be restored within two days. She further stressed the need for accountability among contractors and directed round-the-clock efforts to provide immediate road connectivity to the public.

Reviewing the PHE sector, the DC was informed that 60% of the water supply has been restored.

She instructed the department to submit a detailed report on the number of damaged schemes.

The XEN PHE, Dharmari, briefed that 14 schemes have been damaged and that repair works are currently underway. In the JPDCL sector, the DC directed immediate restoration of electricity across the district. It was informed that electricity has been restored in most areas, with only 2% of transformers pending repair.

The DC instructed officers to relocate transformers from sinking zones and complete the restoration work on priority. DC Nidhi Malik also directed the District Mineral Officer (DMO) Reasi to conduct a joint inspection with XEN PWD and PMGSY to check bridges and culverts.

She stressed ensuring that no drainage channels are blocked by deposited material, and directed immediate clearance to prevent river water obstruction, thereby safeguarding the safety and stability of bridges and culverts.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all departments must work in close coordination and expedite efforts to restore normalcy in the district at the earliest.

ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC Rakesh Kumar, CPO Narinder Kumar, XEN PWD, PMGSY, and other concerned officers were present.
