ACB arrests a Tehsildar after unearthing disproportionate assets worth Rs 5.02 crore

Hyderabad, Aug 30: The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Fort Warangal mandal Tehsildar Bandi Nageswara Rao after unearthing disproportionate assets worth Rs 5.02 crore by government valuation during raids on premises related to him.

ACB sleuths conducted searches at seven locations, including the house of Rao and his family members, his office, and other premises.

The searches have preliminarily revealed that he was in possession of house properties worth Rs 1.15 crore, at government rates. agricultural land documents covering 17 acres and 10 guntas, worth Rs 1.42 crore, 70 tolas gold ornaments worth Rs 23.84 lakh, silver articles weighing 1.791 grams worth Rs 92.000, two cars and a bike worth Rs 34.78 lakh, 23 wristwatches worth Rs 3.28 lakh and household articles valued at Rs 16.43 lakh, according to a press release & the total worth of the assets is Rs 5.02 crore.

The ACB officials said that further verification of additional assets is underway, and the current market values were estimated to be significantly higher than the government valuation.

The ACB booked Rao for acquiring assets disproportionate to his lawful sources of income by indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during his service and produced him before a special court.
