Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remains completely shut for the fourth consecutive day

Jammu, Aug 29: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained completely shut for the fourth consecutive day following catastrophic damage inflicted by recent heavy rainfall, severing the critical land link to the Kashmir Valley.

The most severe damage occurred at the Samroli area, of Udhampur district, where both the up and down tubes of the highway have been entirely washed away, leaving a vast gap and rendering the road completely impassable.

Further, a bridge on the same highway in the Thard area has also collapsed, compounding the engineering challenge and effectively cutting off the region.

Meanwhile on other hand National Highway down tube washed away due to heavy rainfall.
