BARAMULLA, Aug 27: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa conducted an extensive tour of border villages of Uri sub-division to take first hand appraisal of developmental works, administrative initiatives and grievances pertaining to the region.
The visit was aimed at assessing on-ground developmental issues and engaging directly with the local population living close to the border to resolve any infrastructural and service delivery challenges faced by them.
During the visit, DC met the locals at various border villages of Uri including Hathlanga, Isham and adjoining areas where the people projected several developmental issues including infrastructure for school buildings, uninterrupted power supply and demand for individual bunkers.
DC gave a patient hearing to all the concerns raised by the villagers and assured the public that the administration is committed to the development and welfare of border residents, and all genuine issues would be addressed in a time-bound manner.
He issued on-spot directions to the concerned officers to take up the issues raised by the local population and address their grievances on priority and in a time bound manner.
