26 Probationary IPS Officers call on DGP J&K

JAMMU July 30: 26 Probationary IPS Officers (77 RR batch) from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), on Wednesday called on the Director General of Police, J&K Nalin Prabhat, and interacted with him and other senior officers.

They were briefed on the unique challenges which J&K Police faces and the role and contribution of J&K Police in combating terrorism.

During the interaction, the probationers were briefed on the distinctive and demanding nature of policing in Jammu and Kashmir, a region marked by complex security challenges, including militancy, law and order issues, and community engagement.

The DGP and his senior team elaborated on the operational framework of the J&K Police, highlighting its multifaceted role in maintaining peace, ensuring public safety, and spearheading anti-militancy efforts in collaboration with other security forces.

The DGP, Nalin Prabhat welcomed the officer trainees and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in their future roles. He underscored the sacrifices made by the J&K Police force in its ongoing commitment to securing the region and its people.

The visiting officers were also familiarized with various strategic and technological tools adopted by the J&K Police in modern policing, intelligence gathering, and crisis response, as well as community outreach programs aimed at building trust between law enforcement and civilians.

The visit was part of the field training module designed by SVPNPA to expose future police leaders to ground realities in sensitive regions and prepare them for real-world law enforcement challenges.
