MLA Kathua urges CM to revive Rs 272 crore scientific sewerage project proposed by Govt in 2020

SRINAGAR, July 24: MLA Kathua Dr Bharat Bhushan today met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar and raised key development issues of Kathua town, with a focus on sanitation and infrastructure.

Dr Bhushan highlighted that Kathua, with a population of over two lakh, lacks a proper sewerage system, which poses a serious risk to public health.

He urged the Chief Minister to revive the Rs 272 crore scientific sewerage project, originally proposed by the Housing and Urban Development Department in 2020.

Dr Bhushan also thanked the Chief Minister for providing funds under Finance Commission grants for improving bridge connectivity in Kathua. He requested an increase in FC allocation to ensure timely completion of pending bridge works over the next two years.
