JAMMU, July 23: Rich tributes were paid today to Former Minister Ghulam Nabi Wani Sogami on his 44th death anniversary.
A commemorative event was held in his native village, Sogam Kupwara, where speakers remembered and highlighted his remarkable contributions.
The speakers described the late Sogami as a visionary leader whose pioneering efforts in water conservation brought a revolution in the agricultural sector. These efforts empowered farmers and played a vital role in alleviating poverty across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the Lolab Valley.
Among those present were the Chief Minister’s Advisor Nasir Sogami , Legislators Qaysar Lone and Javed Mirchal, Provincial President Kashmir Showkat Mir, Provincial Secretary Syed Towqeer Ahmed , Provincial Spokesperson Tahir Sayeed, DDC members Nasir Lone and Sanaullah Khan, Advocate Amina Majeed, Mustafa Rahi, Zonal Youth President North Kashmir Zahid Mughal, District Youth President Advocate Zahoor, Vice President Zahoor Ahmed Shah and Advocate Abdul Rashid Malik.
