DC Rajouri establishes District TB Control Room to strengthen fight against Tuberculosis


RAJOURI, JULY 09: In a significant step towards making Rajouri a Tuberculosis-free district, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma established a dedicated District TB Control Room under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP). The initiative aims to strengthen the monitoring mechanism for TB patients and ensure effective implementation of TB eradication strategies.

The control room has been set up to track all TB Patients to coordinate with Nikshay Mitras and patients so that all patients take medication regularly and the accountability of field staff is ensured. This is in compliance to the directions of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, during the review on accelerating the progress of TB elimination efforts across the Union Territory.

As part of the initiative, the District Health Officer, Dr. Sham Lal has been designated as the Nodal Officer to oversee the functioning of the District TB Control Room. The Nodal Officer will be responsible for coordination among departments, monitoring patient tracking systems and ensuring that all necessary support reaches TB patients in a timely and effective manner.
