Ramban, Jun 26: In view of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, DIG Doda Kishtwar Ramban (DKR) range Shridhar Patil chaired a high-level security review meeting at District Police headquarters Ramban on Thursday.
SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh and ASP Ramban highlighted the key points regarding Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The meeting was attended by commandants, adhoc commandants, company commanders of CRPF, CISF, and IRP, zonal officers, staff officer to DIG, DySP, Traffic National Highway Ramban, all DySPs of Ramban, SDPO Banihal, and other police officers of the district.
The DIG after taking a detailed briefing, emphasised on the importance of coordination among all the law enforcement agencies for ensuring safe Yatra. DIG apprised officers about the current security scenario & directed officers to take all preventive measures.
Traffic management plan, emergency response, and public safety measures were also discussed in the meeting.
The senior officers effectively reviewed the traffic plan and the corresponding security measures to ensure a hassle free journey for the pilgrims. Deployment plans were reviewed by the DIG, and preparedness was assessed to meet any contingency in the district during the yatra.
The participating officers shared crucial inputs and feedback on the necessary steps to maintain law and order and effective counter terrorism grid.
DIG Patil stated that “our primary objective is to ensure the Amarnath Yatra is conducted safely and peacefully”. “We are committed to working closely with all stakeholders to provide a secure environment for the pilgrims,” Patil said.
The police department encourages all the pilgrims to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities, he said. Police assistance centers (help desks) will be available at key locations to assist pilgrims about queries or concerns during the Yatra.
