JAMMU, June 28: The indefinite strike and protest dharna of the workers of Power Development Department, PDL/TDL continued in the office complex of Managing Director, JPDCL on Railway Road Jammu on the third consecutive day today.
The members of All J&K PDD, PDL, TDL and Other Workers Union, led by Akhil Sharma , went on indefinite strike/protest dharna on June 26 against pending financial concurrence for regularisation, despite approval by BOD of JPDCL.
The PDD workers from various parts of Jammu Province, working in various Corporations of unbundled Power Development Department assembled in the office complex of MD JPDCL today again and started protest demonstration, carrying banners and placards in their hands.
They were shouting slogans in support of their demands and also against the PDD authorities for causing delay in resolving their issues.
The leaders while addressing large gathering came down heavily on the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd management for not being able to expedite the sanction of Financial Concurrence from Finance Department as per the decision of regularization of PDL/ TDL conveyed by Board of Directors of JPDCL, according to the Regularisation Rules duly vetted by Law Department.
The PDL/ TDL workers have stopped working from Thursday & added that responsibility of power outage shall fall solely on the JPDCL management.
They further said that authorities have forgot that the PDL/ TDL and other workers of PDD have given sacrifices and blood to this power sector but are denied financial concurrence despite Board of Directors of JPDCL having approved the proposal of 557 daily rated workers as per the Regularisation Rules.
