DC Rajouri visits GMC to enquire about condition of persons injured in a road accident

 RAJOURI, June 24: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today visited the Government Medical College & Hospital to enquire about the condition of the persons injured in a road accident near Chingus on Jammu- Rajouri – Poonch National Highway, which claimed two lives and left seven others injured.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the medical staff and directed them to provide prompt and quality treatment to the injured persons.  He assured every possible support from district administration to the families of the injured persons.

Later, the DC visited the site of the accident to take stock of the situation. He was accompanied by the Superintending Engineer R&B, officers from Traffic Police, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), and representatives of the Border Roads Organisation.

Taking serious note of the fatal accident, the Deputy Commissioner sought an action taken report from all concerned departments and directed them to implement immediate and long-term corrective measures to prevent such mishaps in future.

He specifically instructed for strict enforcement of traffic rules, installation of signage at vulnerable locations, regular monitoring and checking of high-speed vehicles, identification and corrective measures along accident-prone stretches.

The Deputy Commissioner assured that robust measures will be taken to enhance road safety across the district, and such incidents will be met with stringent administrative response.
