RAJOURI, June 17: DC Rajouri conducted a surprise visit to the Doongi block where awareness activities were planned under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan & during the inspection the Deputy Commissioner found gross negligence and poor preparedness at the event site.
One, Dr Vikas Sharma, Medical Officer posted at PHC Kaller, was found absent without authorization prompting DC to order his immediate attachment to CHC Kandi till further orders.
Block Development Officer Datta Ram was found to have failed in making adequate arrangements for the awareness event, so why taking note of the casual approach the BDO has been served with a show-cause notice seeking an explanation for his conduct.
DC expressed strong displeasure and reiterated the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards dereliction of duty, especially in critical public welfare campaigns like drug de-addiction.
He emphasized that such negligence will not be tolerated and strict disciplinary action will follow where warranted.
He directed all the concerned departments to intensify efforts under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ ensuring maximum public participation, meaningful outreach and effective execution of programme objectives.
