Thiruvananthapuram, June 16: Kerala Govt withheld clearance certificate for DGP Yogesh Gupta despite drawing CM’s attention.
Eventually, on the 1st of this month, he lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister. Ordinarily, such certificates are to be issued within ten days, but in this case, the delay continues without any without any stated reason.
Despite three written requests from the Union Home Ministry confirming that Gupta has no cases or investigations against him, the state has yet to grant the necessary clearance.
It added that despite repeated letters, including one sent over six weeks ago, the CS has not forwarded the clearance to the Centre, even after obtaining a report from the Police Chief confirming Gupta's clean record.
Without this, Gupta's file cannot move to the Central Vigilance Commission for final approval for another top post.
