KATHUA, JUNE 10: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Lakhanpur corridor to assess and finalize preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, which is expected to witness thousands of pilgrims entering Lakhanpur on daily basis.
DC said that our aim is to transform Lakhanpur into a multi facility hub & we have set up 36 lodgment centers, 6 RFID registration counters, adequate number of clean lavatories and entertainment zones to serve the yatris.
He added that the enhancements align with best practices adopted in previous years to streamline pilgrim management and comfort.
Accompanied by ASP Rahul Charak, ADC Vishavjeet Singh, CPO Ranjit Thakur and other District and Sectoral Officers, the DC inspected the reception points, lodgement centres, registration kiosks and sanitation facilities including toilet complexes.
He asked the stakeholder departments to ensure timely setting up of waterproof pandals, medical and help desks, control rooms, and cold drinking water stations.
The DC stressed on making toilet complexes and additional facilities fully functional prior to the arrival of the first batch of yatris.
The Executive Engineer PWD was asked to expedite the repair and renovation of the Lakhanpur corridor—emphasizing timeline completion with all facilities.
DC urged the stakeholder departments to collaborate proactively to provide a seamless, hassle-free pilgrimage experience to visiting devotees.
