JAMMU, June 4: All J&K PDL/TDL and Other Workers Union today declared to go on indefinite strike from June 11, 2025 & addressing a press conference here today, president of the Union, Akhil Sharma said that due to the indifferent attitude of the authorities, despite several representations and reminders, they have failed to address the pending issues of the workers.
He said over ten thousand workers are working in the Corporations in different capacities for last over 20 to 25 years. They have been strongly opposing privatization but Government remained unmoved.
The Unions/ Associations have been raising their issues of pending wages and regularization besides implementation of Common Wages Act in J&K, but nothing has been done in this regard.
The union president said that they have given seven days notice period to the authorities to consider their issues and have detailed discussion otherwise they will suspend work from June 11 and go on to indefinite strike in support of their pending issues.
They warned that no private contractor’s people will be allowed to work on HT/LT power lines/ feeders etc. & have appealed to the Chief Minister and Principal Secretary Power to intervene into the matter and resolve the pending issues of PDD workers.
