New Delhi, May 23: President Droupadi Murmu conferred Kirti Chakra upon Himayun Muzzammil Bhat, Deputy Superintendent of Police, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (Posthumous).
In an encounter in Anantnag district in September 2023, he engaged the terrorists disregarding his own safety.
Despite sustaining severe gunshot wounds, he continued to fire, preventing their escape.
