10 IRS Officers Promoted to Joint Commissioner Rank

New Delhi, May 15: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), has issued Orders, promoting ten officers of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) to the prestigious grade of Joint Commissioner.

Order copy with CTN speaks that the promotions are based on the seniority list dated 27.03.2025/25.04.2025, with effect from the dates the officers assumed charge.

The promoted officers will serve on an ‘as is where is’ basis until formal postings are approved.

List of Officers Promoted to Joint Commissioner (IRS – Customs & Indirect Taxes):-

1. Ajoy Kumar Majumdar. 2. Prakash.  3. Khurshid Rehan  4..Ajay Anand Arya.  5  D.S. Maan   6. Devki Nandan Pant   7. Rajesh Dahiya.  8  K.V. Kumar.  9.  Michael T.H.01-06- 10. Venkadesh Babu.

Order further reads that "No arrears of pay shall be admissible due to the notional nature of the promotion". Promotions are subject to outcome of court cases, if any. Officers will continue in their current postings until further orders.

This promotion comes under the pre-revised pay scale of Pay Band–3 with Grade Pay Rs. 7600, aligning with the government’s structured cadre management policy.
