Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests a Police Inspector red handed accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh in Mumbai

MUMBAI, May 14: A senior Inspector of Shivaji Nagar police station was caught red handed accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

The accused officer has been booked under various sections of prevention of corruption act and he will be produced before the special ACB court on Today.

Following the complaint, the ACB set up a verification process on Tuesday, during which the accused officer agreed to settle the matter for Rs. 2.5 lakh.

Subsequently, a trap was laid, and Deshmukh was caught red-handed while accepting the first instalment of Rs. 1 lakh.

A team of ACB is also conducting searches of Deshmukh’s residence.
