JAMMU, May 4: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh (JKPS) held a comprehensive crime and security review meeting at District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu.
The meeting was attended by all Zonal SSPs, SDPOs, DySP DAR, SHOs, and In-charge Police Posts across the district.
During the meeting, the SSP reviewed the overall crime situation and discussed measures to strengthen law and order in Jammu district. Emphasis was laid on improving the quality of investigations, timely disposal of cases, handling of NDPS and UAPA cases, tracing missing persons, and action against history-sheeters and absconders.
Special focus was given to the progress of cases under old and new criminal laws, especially ensuring their timely disposal within the prescribed period of 60 and 90 days. Updates were also taken on CCTNS, e-Sakshaya, SID records, e-summons, and the mandatory use of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) services.
SSP Jammu directed all officers to ensure public-friendly policing while maintaining a firm approach towards anti-social and anti-national elements. He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards drug peddling and ordered strict action against those involved in drug trafficking.
He also underlined the need for transparency, integrity, and discipline in the police force.
Stressing on swift police response and empathetic behavior, the SSP said that effective policing is measured not just by quickness, but by the way officers interact with the public.
The meeting concluded with clear directions to officers for ensuring better service delivery, accountability, and security across the district.
