Conducive environment will be provided to sportsperson: Lal Singh

JAMMU, Nov 03:Minister for Health and Medical Education departments, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh while addressing the inaugural ceremony of All India T-20 Cricket Championship-2015 organized by Cricket Club Bhalessa at M A Stadium today said that Government is taking keen interest in upgradation of sports infrastructure and promotion of sports activities across the State.

 

 

Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Controller Drugs and Food organisation Nazir Wani, General Secretary  Kulbir Singh Manhas and Patron of Bhallessa Youth Cricket Club besides hundreds of sports lovers were present on the occasion.

 

The Minister said that present dispensation has taken various initiatives to raise requisite infrastructure for promotion of sports activities in the State. He stressed that youth in the State has huge talent and potential which will be tapped by providing an enabling environment and opportunities through such events. He further said that State’s sports infrastructure suffered heavy damage due floods, but Government is making concerted efforts to revive the same.

 

Choudhary Lal Singh complimented the organizers for organizing such tournaments  to  groom the talent of young sportspersons so that they can participate at national and international levels. He hoped that the budding sportspersons who are getting training at initial stage would become more competitive and bring laurels to the state.

 

The Minister said Government is keen for the promotion of sports in the state, adding that various projects have been taken in hand for creation and upgradation of infrastructure under the sports sector to provide standard facilities to the sports persons. He said the Government is working for the welfare of the youth of the state since its inception.
