JAMMU,Oct 20: Few days back Chief Minister J&K Mufti Sayeed hit out at Housing Department for their working. There are lot of complaints of all concerns of Housing Department like JMC/JDA/Town Planning Organization/Housing Board etc. by one way or the others. The examples can be taken of regarding quality of construction, sanction of plans & NOC etc.
If the details to write, it will never end. In this edition it is the need of the day to publicize the act of Jammu Municipal Corporation. After taking over as Commissioner, present Commissioner, JMC told that she will visit ward to ward personally to check the problems of the peoples but she needs to pacify it.
Everybody now talks of Swachh Bharat Abhyian as it was initiated by Narinder Modi, the Prime Minister of India. Rallies were conducted by Jammu Municipal Corporation during the period of Gandhi Jayanti in the week of 2nd October & thereafter chapter closed. Photo sessions were there along with lectures & would have caused heavy expenditure on the Govt. Exchequer but who bothers.
Ex. Commissioner, JMC, Soujanya Sharma took pain to visit Trikuta Nagar when flooded water damaged so many houses near easy day, he on spot directed one Mr. Kant Sharma, sanitary inspector & Mr Sethi Incharge to clean the nallah immediately as flooded water damaged the nearby houses as it has been filled up with big stones since years. He got slab of nallah punctured & three steel gratings on it personally but not get cleaned by the above named big bosses. Public rang Mr. Kant &Sethi both so many times for the same but both use to shift responsibility on each other & further damage caused by that nallah, it shall be the personal responsibility of both.
Let us now see the cleanliness drive of JMC only in Trikuta Nagar, very interesting story shall come in picture. There are dumps of garbage here & there. Not proper cleaning of drains shall cause creation of Dengue like killing disease. Jammu Municipal Corporation has health officer with full wing but nobody bothers for proper inspection for sanitation/ nallah cleaning in every lane, which is otherwise seems to be in papers only.
A new story of laying of cables by some private company has been started in the jurisdiction of JMC in Trikuta Nagar, lanes have been damaged since a long but the officers of JMC don’t bother to press the concerned agency for immediate repair of the damaged parts of the lanes in Trikuta Nagar or other parts on priority. Lot of vehicles have been damaged along with lot of accidents due to this undesired/unplanned activity on the head of JMC by other agency. Had the JMC officers bothered to look into the matter? One complaintent informed that, the matter was discussed with the Technical head of JMC for early repair of the lanes three weeks back but nothing came out till date. It is the very urgent need of the day to look after by the Commissioner, JMC that if JMC is not bothered for this than which is the other competent authority to see it. It is also a matter of great concern to see that if Jammu Municipal Corporation has not permitted the said agency for laying of cables in the lanes of JMC than how the JMC lanes damaged and who will look into for its early repair or shall wait for any casuality.
Shall Commissioner, JMC look into the matter of such kind of lapses of her department to provide early relief to the innocent inhabitants of Trikuta Nagar, Vasant Vihar, Sector-3 ext. where the complete lane has been duged out for laying of cable since a long otherwise for any mishappening officers of JMC will be personally responsible for it?
