Speaker reviews progress of Rs 16 cr Satwari–Kunjwani road widening project

JAMMU, APRIL 21: Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today reviewed progress on Phase III of the Rs 16 crore Satwari – Kunjwani road widening project.

The project is being executed by PWD (R&B) at full pace and is scheduled to be completed within the next few months.

Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that proper road connectivity and easy access to proper healthcare, higher education etc lay foundation for all inclusive development of all areas and bridges the rural-urban divide.

Urging the concerned departments to take all measures to complete this project in a time bound manner, the Speaker said that besides widening of road, it should also be ensured that allied drainage network is strengthened to ensure longevity of the road.

He also stressed on concerned agencies including PWD and JMC to work in unison and coordination for successful completion of the project.

During the visit, the Speaker took review of the progress and discussed in detail the modalities of the project.

He was apprised by PWD officials that the department is working with JMC to ensure the project is completed in due time and inter-alia, concerns are being systematically resolved.  

Besides this, the locals at Satwari apprised the Speaker about various concerns being faced by them.

The Speaker assured the people that their genuine concerns will be taken up across appropriate forums and early resolutions sought.

Many officials from PWD, JMC besides large number of people accompanied the Speaker.
