Director MIET Ankur Gupta among 20 Directors/Principals across India for VELT in Australia

JAMMU: Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director, MIET was selected among 20 Directors/Principals of Technical Institutions across India for the Australia-India Vocational Education Leadership Training (VELT) program. Under this program, Prof. Gupta visited New South Wales, Australia from Feb. 24th to March 4th, 2017 on the invitation of the Australian Government for an immersive experience of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector in Australia.

The Australian VET sector is among the oldest in the world with the first training programs launched in 1880's. Technical and Further Education (TAFE), New South Wales, a Government of Australia concern, is the largest vocational training provider in Australia with over 5,00,000 enrollments in 150+ courses spread across 126 campuses.

Prof. Gupta visited six different TAFE campuses offering skill-development trainings in computer science and IT, electrical engineering, networking and security, electronics and telecommunications, fashion and industrial design and electro-mechanical trades.

Further to this visit, Prof. Gupta is expected to serve as a facilitator and resource person for 120 leaders across Indiantechnical institutions in phase III of the VELT program which is to be held in Delhi in April, 2017.
