DPC approves 73 promotions in Information Department; Employees hail decision


 

JAMMU, MARCH 04: The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of Directorate of Information and Public Relations, headed by Director Information, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary which met here last week has approved promotion of 30 employees of the Department. The promotion orders of the upgraded employees were issued here today.

The DPC meeting was convened at the Directorate level after a gap of five years clearing promotions at various levels to remove stagnation of employees and facilitate avenues for their career progression.

Similarly, the DPC at the provincial level, headed by Joint Director Information, Jammu Ms Maneesha Sarin, which met after a gap of six years, approved promotion of 43 employees in the office of the Joint Director Information Jammu.

Meanwhile, the DPC meeting for the officers and officials of the Joint Director Information Kashmir is being held shortly to affect promotions at various levels.

Hailing the convening of DPC meeting and affecting promotions at various levels, the employees of the Information Department have thanked Financial Commissioner/Secretary to the Government Information Department, Mr B B Vyas, Director Information, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Joint Director Information Jammu, Ms Maneesha Sarin, Additional Secretary Information, Mr R K Katock,  Joint Director Information (Headquarters), Mr Abdul Majid Zargar, Deputy Director Information (HQs) Jammu, Ms Priyanka Bhat, Deputy Director Information (Central), Sheikh Zahoor-ul-Haq, Administrative Officer, Directorate of Information, Mr Mohammad Munnawar Khawaja and other officers and officials of the Department for fulfilling their long pending demand.

The employees said that the move would go a long way not only in their career progression, but also strengthen their resolve to work with fresh commitment and dedication for the Department.
