SRINAGAR, MARCH 02: A team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Joint Controller LMD Amar Singh today fined two LPG distributors for overcharging on the refill cooking gas cylinders.
Following complaints, the team inspected LPG distributors at Srinagar and Magam and observed that the dealers overcharging customers and were fined for violating Legal Metrology laws.
The Joint Controller said that the present rate of refill cylinders (subsidized) in district Srinagar is Rs 852.50, of which actual cost of gas is Rs 456.50 and rest is subsidy.
He, further, advised the general public to lodge complaints regarding violation of set norms on 0194-2490390 or 0194-2495058 during office hours or at the Department’s office at SDA Colony Bemina, Srinagar.
