JAMMU, Apr 23:On the occasion of the World Book Day, 23rd April 2024 the Department of Libraries and Research, J&K organized one-day book exhibition at District Library Jammu Kala Kendra Jammu. Rare and historical books were exhibited which include the Excavations of Mansar , Poonch History, Akbar Nama , Comic Books Jammu History Books . World Book day 2024 theme was “Read your Way”.
The theme emphasizes the importance of choice and enjoyment in fostering a love of reading among children. The books for competitive examinations were displayed.
The motive of this exhibition is to create awareness among the reader and general public to explore the historic treasure of library and the facilities of library.
The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Sh. Suresh Kumar Gupta , Principal Secretary Department of Culture in the presence of Sh. Mohd Rafi, Director Libraries & Research , J&K , Smt Parveen Kumari Kaith Deputy Director Libraries Jammu , Ms. Sabhyita Rani, Chief Librarian , Shri Ranbir Singh Central Library Jammu.
Around 50 students from Government High School Pull Tawi Jammu along with teachers and staff of Libraries Department visited the exhibition.
