Ghaziabad, April 16: Four cops, including a former SHO of Muradnagar police station, were booked for allegedly demanding a Rs 2 lakh bribe to dismiss a case.
The cops were identified as Satish Kumar, the former SHO, investigating officer of the case Lalchand Kannaujia, second investigation officer Bhuvnesh Kumar, and head constable Vikash Kumar.
Police said that based on the initial investigation, an FIR has been registered against the four officers at the Muradnagar police station under IPC sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
Police added that we have found some audio clips in which the accused were demanding bribes from the victim, and we will soon send them to an expert for investigation.
