Jammu, Apr 12:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the progress achieved by Housing and Urban Development Department at a meeting with senior officials today.
The Lt Governor emphasized on adopting transformative approach in project implementation and integrated planning with a broader framework to address the issues pertaining to Master Plans at the earliest.
He also called for empowering Municipal Corporations, Development Authorities and strengthening the human resource in the department for speedy completion of the projects.
Howecer, there are countless issues of harassment like revised Master Plan of Jammu Dev Authority, deciding issue of proposed roads of private owners, on which BP cases are put on hold, violation of J&K Development Act of 1970 & unified Building Bye Laws of 2021 in clearing BP cases in stipulated time frame fixed, withholding of NOCs by Revenue Wing of JDA for which BP Case No 1062 dtd 1.2.2024 is thee example that despite lapse of 72 days neither Revenue Wing of JDA accorded NOC nor JDA accorded deemed sanctioned BP case, which are needed to be acted upon in first go.
However, J&K Development Act of 1970 reads to revise Master Plan after 05 years but MP of 2032 was notified in March 2017 & now 07 years has lapsed but still it is waiting for its revision with removal of illegal observations & adding the truth on ground.
However, long pending issue of abolition of UTEIC has been taken on properly by Commissioner/Secretary H&UDD Mandeep Kour after briefed personally by Rajesh Gupta Managing Editor Cross Town News, whereas was not taken into account in Kashmir since 2016 but none of defaulting officer was taken to task.
