JAMMU, Apr 02: Chairman DPAP and formr, Ghulam Nabi Azad, will contest from the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat. The announcement was made by DPAP Treasurer TajMohidudin in a press conference in Srinagar today.
Earlier National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Tuesday questioned suggestions that party candidate for Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat Mian Altaf Ahmad was an Outsider to the constituency.
Omar said How is Mian Sahib an outsider? He is as much from Rajouri & Poonch as much as he is from Anantnag or elsewhere in Kashmir. If PM Modi can come from Gujarat and contest in Uttar Pradesh, No one should have problems with this.
The Rajouri-Anantnag Seat is turning battleground and most interesting one, as BJP is also eyeing the seat.
Sources told Cross Town News that BJP keeping name up the sleeves in Rajouri-Anantnag and work is being done , to name the Candidate who will emerge as preferred choice in Anantnag, Rajouri and Poonch.
Sources said that BJP most likely to focus on various factors like Gujjar Voters, Pahari voters while finalizing the candidate from the said seat.
