Dorjey lauds rescue team for saving lives of 12 tourists in Leh

JAMMU, Jan  31:Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperatives, Chering Dorjay, today appreciated the humane gesture of Sonam Angchuk, Numbardar, Chushul (Leh), Phuntsog Angdu, Incharge SHO and his team, 47th Battalion, ITBP; SHO Nyoma (Leh), Power Development Department, Public Works Department, BSNL Leh and health department, for successfully rescuing 15 tourists including 12 male and 3 female from the wrath of snow.

Pertinently, the rescued passengers were travelling by a tempo Traveler on Tsaga to Chushul, which got stuck for around 18 hours in heavy snow on the road. The role of the rescue team, who managed, evacuation of the tourists from the trapped vehicle is appreciable.

Dorjay has called upon the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh to recognize this noble service by honouring the team with an appreciation award. 

 He also appreciated the role of Dr. Sonam Dawa, Chairman, LAHDC and Konchok Stanzin, Councillor, LAHDC, Chushul for monitoring the rescue operation in an efficient manner.
