JAMMU, Dec 22: JAMMU SANSKRITI SCHOOL, JAMMU, celebrated JUNIOR SPORTS MEET-2023 on Friday, 22nd December 2023. JSS, Jammu hosted the much-awaited Sports Day with great ardor and zeal, showcasing a myriad of events that celebrated athleticism and teamwork.
Press Statement reads "The JUNIOR SPORTS MEET-2023 (UDAAN-9) was woven around the theme (हर्षतरङ्गः The wave of Joy).The students, staff, and parents were filled with zeal to witness the extraordinary endeavors of the students, who worked enthusiastically for this occasion. The event unfolded with a warm welcome address, setting the tone for a day filled with excitement and camaraderie. The magnificence of the day was made stronger by the Chief Guest SARAH RIZVI (IPS) DIG (TRAINING) PHQ, JAMMU, and the guest of honor BHANU PRATAP SINGH (ASSISTANT DIRECTOR SPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA INCHARGE JAMMU & KASHMIR), and the special invitees for the day were RAVINDER SINGH (ASSOCIATE SECRETARY OF J&K OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION) and HARINDERPAL SINGH LECT. (DIRECTORATE OF SPORTS AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION) JAMMU UNIVERSITY. Rohini Aima, Principal cum vice-chairperson, JSS, Jammu, honored and welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest Of Honour, and Special Invitees along with other dignitaries.
Sapling presentation was also done to felicitate the Chief Guest SARAH RIZVI (IPS) DIG (TRAINING) PHQ, JAMMU, the Guest Of Honour BHANU PRATAP SINGH (ASSISTANT DIRECTOR SPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA INCHARGE JAMMU & KAHMIR), and the Special Invitees RAVINDER SINGH (ASSOCIATE SECRETARY OF J&K OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION) and MR. HARINDERPAL SINGH LECT. (DIRECTORATE OF SPORTS AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION) JAMMU UNIVERSITY symbolizing growth and nurturing values.
The event was also graced by Harpreet singh Anand (Chairman JSS), Sunakshi Anand (Director
Operations JSS, Jammu), Harleen Anand (Director Operations JSS, Kathua) and other revered area heads and coordinators of the institution. The festivities kicked off with a symbolic Balloon Release and the Lighting of the Torch, signifying the ignition of passion and the pursuit of excellence. This was followed by the Oath Ceremony, where participants pledged their commitment to fair play and sportsmanship. Vandhana, a cultural performance, added a touch of grace to the event, while the School Song in an English Mashup resonated through the grounds, instilling a sense of pride. The sporting events commenced with Yoga, promoting physical and mental well-being, and races for various age groups, including the 30 meters race for pre-nursery and the 50 meters race for 2nd graders.
Drill formation and the Cleanliness Race showcased discipline and hygiene awareness, while Taekwondo demonstrations by 1st and 2nd graders exhibited their martial arts skills. Zumba performances by 1st and 2nd graders, the Get Ready to School Race for 2nd graders, Relay Race for 1st graders, and the Ball Pick Up and Drop race for Nursery students added a vibrant flair to the sports day. The event reached its pinnacle with the Prize Distribution ceremony, where outstanding performers were recognized. Other notable events included the Hurdle Race, Dumbbells demonstration, Chair Race, and Tug of War involving parents, demonstrating the school's commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. The day concluded with a second round of Prize Distribution.
The cultural segment featured Gatka and Bangra dance performances, showcasing the diversity and talent within the school. The Chief Guest SARAH RIZVI (IPS) DIG (TRAINING) PHQ, JAMMU
addressed the gathering and congratulated the participants on their enthusiastic display of talent and spirit of sportsmanship. The Guest Of Honour BHANU PRATAP SINGH (ASSISTANT DIRECTOR SPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA INCHARGE JAMMU & KAHMIR) appreciated the sense of competition instilled in the students and encouraged them to pursue their goals with similar diligence and perseverance. The programme concluded on a happy note with a grand finale dance performance by the tiny tots. The programme culminated with the Vote of thanks for well-ordered and fantastic conduct of the event.
