JAMMU, Dec 04:Demanding declaring of Rajouri Day on April 13 as Holiday for Rajouri District, Former MLC and General Secretary of BJP, J&K Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that on 13 April 1948, Rajouri town was recaptured from the intruders by the heroic action of armed forces assisted by brave citizens of Rajouri we must consider the significance of this day by declaring April 13 as Holiday.
Advocate Vibodh Gupta today called on to Hon’ble LG Manoj Sinha and presented 13 point memorandum raising various development demands including declaring April 13 as Holiday in Rajouri, strengthening of VDC, creation of tehsil at Budhal and Doongi, operationalization of KV in Doongi, managing the sanction of project under AMRUT 2.0 for Rajouri, construction of span PSC Girder-Motrable Panjpeer to Badalmang Bridge, J&K Bank Branch at Doongi, opening of Degree College at Dhangri, sanctioning bridge between Sangam Dugwell to New Bus Stand, Appointment of permanent Principal in GMC Rajouri, establishment of New Industrial Zone in Rajouri, sanction of Mother & Child Hospital in Old Hospital Building and timely completion of Akhnoor Poonch Highway and expediating work on Thanamandi Surankote Road.
During the interaction with Hon’ble LG, Gupta said that in order to tackle the recent surge of Pak sponsored militancy related incidents in Rajouri, the local VDC’s need to be strengthened and new gun licences should be issued to the locals in these affected areas besides renewal of old licences on priority.
He briefed Hon’ble LG that two new Tehsils in Budhal and Doongi areas of Rajouri were not made operational and it is the long pending demand of the people of these areas. He apprised that a Kendra Vidyalaya was sanctioned for Doongi, Rajouri, and a principal was also appointed. He urged Hon’ble LG to ensure that KV’s are operationalised at the earliest.
Vibodh said that a project under AMRUT 2.0 has been sent to Delhi for approval. He urged him to take up the issue with the Union Minister for Jal Shakti to prioritise the work and expedite the execution of this project for the welfare of the people
Demanding intervention of Hon’ble LG into construction of of 160-metre span PSC Girder Motorable Panjpeer to Badalamang Bridge, Vibodh said that it was sanctioned by the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways, Government of India in 2016 to alleviate traffic congestion in Rajouri city from the heavy vehicular movements but the project could not be completed due to objections raised by the Army Station HQ Rajouri. He requested Hon’ble LG to intervene and ensure the successful completion of this critically important project for the benefit of the public.
Demanding J&K Bank Branch at Doongi and Degree College for Dhangri, Vibodh said that Doongi area of Rajouri is situated adjoining to the Line of Control (L.O.C), and the residents of this area have endured significant hardships during the past and they deserve to be given J&K Bank branch. He added that people of Dhangri have been persistently requesting the establishment of a Government Degree College for their area from a long time and the demand is genuine to be fulfilled.
Vibodh also requested to sanction a bridge between Sangam Dugwell to the New Bus Stand with approach road to Vedanta Bridge besides posting of Permanent Principal in Government Medical College Rajouri. He also demanded to establish a new industrial zone in Rajouri, equipped with modern facilities. “There is also need to sanction a Mother & Child hospital for Rajouri and this can function at the old building of the Rajouri Hospital”, he demanded. He has also demanded timely completion of the Akhnoor-Poonch highway as per the DPR as this road besides being lifeline of the entire population of the area, has immense strategic importance. He further requested Hon’ble LG to issue direction to concerned agencies and officials to expedite the work on Thanamandi – Surankote road via Bufliaz.
Expressing satisfaction over the visionary approach of Hon’ble LG towards changing the perception about J&K in the rest of world, Vibodh said that they are grateful to LG for tireless efforts in engaging with the people of J&K towards early solution of their various problems.
