UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: The coaching and competition camp of Khelo India under JK Sports Council which started with great fervor in Udhampur with 50 player’s registered themselves with the J&K Sports Council for Hockey and Yoga concluded on Thursday.
.The coaching camps were carried out for ten days and concluded on Thursday at Udhampur Stadium.
The trainees and the players for the camps and competitions were screened by the empowered committees for selection.
On the occasion, Vice Chairman , Udhampur Sports Council ,Member J&k Sports Council, Member J&k transport Advisory Committee and Editor in Chief Cross Town News, Rahil Gupta said besides good education, promotion of sports is must for overall development of an individual.
Rahil said that Sports Council is committed for promotion of sports in the State.
Rahil said “Sports give you energy and motivation to focus on right activities instead of wasting energies on wrongful activities like drus menace.”
Rahil added that with the initiatives like “Khelo India Special Coaching camps”, J&K would be able to produce national as well as international players and also congratulated two Hockey players selected from the camp to represent state team.
Later Vice Chairman Sports Council also distributed cash award of Rs 500, and Khelo India T-Shirts among the participants.
Rahil Gupta also congratulated a Girl who foiugh it out with 50 boys in the camp and was also honoured by VC and Coaches.
Members of district sports council Udhampur Raj Guru,.CK Sharma and Suresh Khajuria , Incharge Manager Shaktish Chopra and Coaches were present along with other dignitaries.
