JJSF seek arrest of mother of IPL & J&K cricketer Mithun Manhas


JAMMU, Jan 12: Jammu Justice Secular Forum (JJSF)  held a protest demonstration against police for lackadaisical attitude and sheltering the accused Padma Manhas, mother of IPL Player and Captain of J&K Ranji Cricket team Mithun Manhas , who is allegedly involved in atrocities on her maid namely Shilpa Kumari.

According to press release, the activists of JJSF gathered near Press Club (Exhibition Ground) and chanting slogan against the police for allegedly involved in sheltering the main accused.

Cross Town News earlier on December 30 had reported about complaint being filed in Women cell against Padma Manhas.

Speaking to the media Vikram Singh Chib, Provincial President, JJSF disclosed that as per the complaint filed by the complainant, Shilpa Kumari and her two brothers and one sister were unauthorised and illegally picked up by the accused around the year 2003 and were made to work against their wishes in houses of different persons. They were not allowed to study and were also never paid even a single penny for their work.

The complainant further stated that she was regularly tortured, beaten and humiliated since she was taken illegally by the accused to her house.

She has further stated in her complaint that her younger brother namely Shivam Kumar (Kalu) was sent by the accused Padma Manhas to work as servant in her son's (Mithun Manhas) house at Delhi.

Vikram further told that the sister of the complainant was recovered by the police and was handed over to the complainant's elder brother on Sapurdnama. However, no step has been taken by the police till now to recover the younger brother (Shivam Kumar) who was working at Delhi at Mithun Manhas's house nor they have arrested the accused so far.
