
JAMMU, Jan 12: The state of Jammu & Kashmir has an energy shortage (energy deficit) of 21.8% as of 2015-16.
The data available with Cross Town News states that this has come down remarakably from 35.83% in 2011-12.
In addition, there has been lower tariff recovered on account of the electricity supplied to consumers.
The data available with Cross Town News reads , In 2015-16, Rs 3,357 crore was targeted to be earned on the electricity supplied, out of which, only Rs 1,937 crore has been realized. This is 57% of the targeted amount and is the lowest in the last five years.
