Srinagar, September 27: Secretary Tourism Jammu and Kashmir, Sarmad Hafeez, who can be seen every day in media with different statement & today said that Kashmir is being promoted as wedding destination apart from routine promotions.
Hafeez said that recently a couple from Canada visited Pahalgam for destination wedding. Apart from adventure tourism and other tourism activities, we are trying trying to promote Kashmir as wedding destination as it has a lot of potential and people too are keen to conduct weddings here.
He added that about 70 untapped destinations have already been identified and are being promoted.
He further added that we are also trying to promote corporate tourism here & department is trying to focus on tourism at the grassroots level and provide people, who come here, a complete tourism experience.
But, it is a big question on the otherside that why Department is killing the development of Patnitop area, which is also a best tourist destination by sleeping over the revision of its Master Plan, otherwise which was notified more than 20 years back?
Pertinent to mention here that Development Act of 1970 clearly speaks to revise the Master Plan after every 05 years by framing Zonal Plans for more detailigs of Land Use but Patnitop Development Authority Master Plan has lapsed more than 22 years of its notification & implementation of that old Master Plan at this time is illegal under rules, so is a serious matter to be looked into but by whom shall again be a question l?
