JAMMU, JANUARY 09 - Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat today inaugurated Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at SMGS Hospital, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the new Neo-Natal ICU equipped with latest technology and better infrastructure will help in reducing the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR).
The Minister said it is the hard work and dedicated efforts of the doctors and paramedics that we have been successful in decreasing the IMR from 34 to 26. Both the governments at the State and the Centre are taking necessary steps to overcome IMR, he added.
After inaugurating the office of medical superintendent of the hospital, the Minister said the state government will leave no stone unturned in its mission to provide better health infrastructure to the State.
MLA Jammu Rajesh Gupta, Director Health NHM, Dr. Mohan Singh, Medical Superintendent SMGS hospital, Dr. Dara Singh and other senior doctors were present on the occasion.
