Jammu Sanskriti School celebrates National Sports Day


JAMMU: As a tribute to Hockey Legend Major Dhayan Chand, National Sports Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in the premises.

Press statement reads “The School’s playground brimmed with zeal, passion and excitement. The Programme commenced with the benign presence of Our Chief Guest Mr Rajan Sharma ,General Secretary J&K UT, All India Boxing federation of India, International technical Coach-Boxing by the presentation of saplings as a token of love followed by a welcome address by Mrs. Rohini Aima , Principal cum Vice chairperson of the school with a message that education without sports activities is incomplete.

Holistic development of a student is possible only when he/she is physically fit and emotionally balanced. The event started with the releasing of the balloons by our Chief guest. The most intriguing aspect, embellishing the event was the field Display involving mass student participation which splattered on the field, a riot of hues and vibrance .The students displayed a wide array of energetic and bouncy sports events ranging from volleyball, relay race, javelin throw, yoga and many more. The Chief Guest awarded the medals and the certificates to the winners of the various sports events. Many other cultural events also added cherry on the cake.

The chief guest addressed the gathering. He emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s life. He was delighted to see the girls participation in every event . The programme was witnessed by dignitaries including the Director Operations Ms. Sunakshi Anand, Vice-Principal Ms. Avneet kaur, Headmistress Ms. Prabhjot kour, Superintendent Of Curriculum And Instructions Ms. Varuna Mangotra, Principal Kindergarten JSS Ms. Nidhi Kohli, all area coordinators and assistant coordinators from JSS Jammu also graced the event. The Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Yogesh Manhas HOD sports. The Meet saw its culmination with the National Anthem.”
