JAMMU, Aug 27: Rotary Club Jammu Elite organized 2nd phase of Project ‘Umeed’ awareness campaign -A program under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) implemented by the Jammu and Kashmir State Rural Livelihood Society at village Sohanjana , the adopted village of Rotary Club Jammu Elite.This Scheme is meant for rural below poverty line ladies.The members of Rotary Club Jammu Elite have come forward to sponsor and financially assist the rural women of their adopted village Sohanjana, so that they can get the benefit of this scheme.
Rtn. Sangeeta Puri was the project director. She awared the women about various government schemes.
Dr. Revika Arora, Club Secretary encouraged the women to come forward and start some start up business for their livelihood and betterment. R tn. Meena Jaggi also encouraged the women to follow Covid guidelines . Rtn. Paramjeet Kour and Rtn. Jyoty Sharma also motivated them to take care of their health and maintain proper hygiene. The members also falicitated Mrs. Kanta, a social worker working with tremendous efforts for the betterment of the rural ladies. Sarpanch Balbir Singh thanked the members of Rotary Club Jammu Elite. Ms. Geetu Aulakh DDC,Block Mandaal Falaye was also present on the occasion.
