Jammu, May 16: WP(Crl) No. 626/2021 titled Omkar Nath Bhat vs Union Territory of J&K and another after hearing HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJNESH OSWAL, JUDGE ORDER ED as:-
Mr. Raman Sharma, learned AAG submits that the Chief Secretary of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has to accord the approval for the purpose of convening meeting of the Screening Committee. Mr. P. N. Bhat, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an old man of 82 years of age and despite being eligible, his case has not been considered till date.
Earlier pursuant to the motion laid by the petitioner, this Court had arrayed Inspector General of Police and Divisional Commissioner, who are the other members of the Screening Committee, as party respondents.
In view of this, as even the newly arrayed respondents have not been able to intimate the Court about the next meeting of the Screening Committee, this Court deems it proper to array Chief Secretary of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir as party respondent No. 7.
Registry to update the cause title. Notice. Mr. Raman Sharma, AAG accepts notice on his behalf. He shall file response/report instructions by the next date.
