JAMMU, Nov 24: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today said that efforts are being made to develop all the villages in J&K on modern lines.
The Speaker said this while inaugurating network of newly constructed link roads in village Dharp and Raina Colony area.
Kavinder Gupta said that focused attention is being paid on the development scenario in villages including social development, cultural development, and motivate the people towards social mobilization of the village community.
“As part of the development plan, gradual implementation of existing schemes is being undertaken and periodic review is being conducted so that tangible output can be achieved in an effective and efficient manner” he added.
Earlier, the Speaker sought the action taken report (ATR) from Joint Commissioner JMC regarding the in-progress Deep Drain Remodeling Project for Naibasti and Digiana launched earlier this week.
Kavinder Gupta, after reviewing the ATR, conducted site inspection at both locations and took note of the on-ground developments made in the project so far.
Expressing satisfaction over the pace of work, Speaker informed the public that a project for up-gradation of roads, street lighting for these areas has also been sanctioned, the work for which will be undertaken shortly. He said provision will also be made in the project to include setting up a wire mesh along the nallah to dissuade public from throwing garbage, plastic waste in the nallah as it leads to clogging besides causing over flooding of drains.
The Speaker also interacted with the locals of the area and assured them that work will be completed at the earliest.
