Rs 8.07 Lakh Scrapped Currency Recovered From Woman In Jammu

JAMMU: GRP Jammu has recovered Rs 8.07 lakh worth demonetized currency from a lady at Jammu Railway Station.

According to SSP Railways Rajinder Gupta, GRP Jammu under the supervision of SDPO Devinder Singh during routine checking at Jammu Railway Station intercepted a lady identified as Bharti, wife of Ajay Bhat, a resident of Rehari Colony and recovered Rs 8.07 lakh in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 from her possession.

He said that the Income Tax authorities were consulted and a team headed by Satbeerh, Deputy Director, Income Tax along with Parvesh Khajuria, Inspector, Income Tax reached the spot to carry out departmental formalities.
