Speaker inspects development works in Gandhinagar

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 17- Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, Thursday, said the Government has formulated a well-knit plan to upgrade the existing infrastructure to ensure improved basic services to the people.

The Speaker was interacting with groups of people during his extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar Constituency today.

While inspecting the ongoing developmental works in Channi Himmat, the Speaker directed the concerned authorities to complete the macadamization and allied works including construction of lanes, drains and approach roads within the stipulated time. He directed the concerned authorities to demolish the illegal structures, if any, hampering the ongoing process of developmental works in the area.

The Speaker said that Government’s main focus is to upgrade the essential services like drinking water, road connectivity, education, electricity, health services, and transport to improve the living conditions of people across the State”. The Speaker said that the concerned departments have been directed to submit report about requirements of funds to upgrade these on priority.

Earlier, the Speaker called on the Chief Minister and sought release of funds earmarked for the developmental works in the Gandhi Nagar constituency for their early completion.

 Latter, the Speaker inaugurated a private medical Clinic here at Channi Himmat Housing Colony established by a senior cardiologist. The Speaker was briefed about this Centre and also the kind of treatment to be provided to the heart patients here. 

Mr. Kavinder Gupta appreciated the initiative and conveyed his best wished to the management for bringing this treatment to Jammu.

During the visit officers of the concerned departments were accompanied with the speaker.
