Jal Jeevan Mission reaches to remotest areas of Leh through air sorties

Leh, October 29: To achieve timely completion of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), LAHDC and District Administration Leh today started delivering JJM material through air sorties to remote areas of the district, such as Dipling.

Dipling comes under Singay Lalok block and is still unconnected through road connectivity.

Despite connectivity challenges, equipment and material like High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes for Jal Jeevan Mission were delivered in Dipling village through air sorties.

This step will ensure timely completion of JJM works in the village as sending material was a huge challenge. The deadline for completion of the Jal Jeevan Mission in UT Ladakh is 15th August 2022.

Works are ongoing in most of the villages in Leh district. Leh recently achieved 20% coverage in providing Functional Household Tap Connections.

10 villages in Leh district have become 100% saturated i.e Har Ghar Jal Village.

The District Administration is making all efforts to achieve the deadline.

The District Superintendent Engineer, PHE Leh; Assistant Executive Engineer, Executive Engineers and Junior Engineers were present to ensure that the operation was conducted smoothly and successfully.
