IGP Jammu reviews Security Scenario in view of Darbar move


JAMMU, Oct 27: Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Jammu (IGP), Danesh Rana, presided over a meeting of Police officers to review the security and law & order and present prevailing security scenario in view of Darbar move to Winter Capital.

The IGP briefed the officers about the scheduled dates of Darbar move and movement of employees/Convoy from Srinagar to Jammu and steps required to be taken to maintian vigil and active our security and law and order handling machinery in view of the escalation going on IB/LO. He also briefed the officers about the deployment required to be made on the eve of opening of darbar move offices at Jammu i.e. Civil Secretariat, CM Route as well as other darbar move offices/colonies/quarters located in Jammu City.

The other participating police officers also briefed the IGP about the available inputs and their assessment about the security and law and order situation in Jammu region particularly district Jammu. They briefed IGP Jammu about the arrangements being made by them to enhance the security arrangements during Winter Capital, at Jammu.

 The checking and frisking system at Nakas in city and its outskirts need to be geared up and made purposeful. The nafri manning these Nakas need to be properly briefed and regularly supervised by the jurisdictional SP/SDPO concerned and make them accountable. He also directed all Zonal SSPs to take special care of traffic Jams especially at Red Light points during the movement of VIPs so that during stoppage at such points, these VIPs do not become target of anti-national and anti-social elements or other unruly mobs/demonstrators.
