Taj Hassan is new DG Fire Services


NEW DELHI, July 04: Senior Indian Police Service officer Mohammad Taj Hasan was on Saturday appointed as the chief of Fire Services, Civil Defense and Home Guard under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The post was lying vacant after the demise of Mohammad Javed Akhtar, a 1986 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre who succumbed to Covid-19 complications in May.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal  to appoint Taj Hasan, a 1987 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre as the Director General of Fire Services, Civil Defense and Home Guard.
