Vaid reviews law & Order situation in Pulwama  Interacts with senior citizens

PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 24: Underscoring the need for greater synergy among all security agencies, Special Director General, Law & Order/Coordination, Mr S P Vaid has said that the law enforcing   agencies have to work together and maintain peace & order in the State, besides safety and security of the people.         

Chairing a meeting of Police and CRPF officers convened here today to review law & order situation in Pulwama, Shopian and Awantipora, which was also attended by IG (Ops) CRPF Mr. Zulfikar Hassan and other officers, Mr. Vaid stressed upon the officers to exercise restraint while dealing with the situations and undertake joint efforts to have result oriented crowd management, besides dealing with the elements inimical to peace.

The meeting deliberated on various issues relating to the security scenario in districts of south Kashmir which was briefed by the field officers about the measures undertaken on different fronts to restore peace and order in the districts. He said that a sense of security needs to be instilled in the minds of people and the law abiding citizens to be taken aboard while taking preventive measures.          

Mr. Vaid stressed for coordination among various security forces to follow common strategy and measures for the security of civil populace in the districts. He said that Rule of law should be strictly implemented and the elements creating hurdles should be identified and booked under law. He reiterated that trouble makers will not be allowed to take law in their hands and such persons would be dealt firmly.         

Interacting with the senior citizens on the occasion, Mr. Vaid assured that the forces dealing with the law & order situation have been asked to exercise maximum restraint and ensure safety of the people during hostile situations. People’s cooperation in maintaining calm is imperative and the senior citizens have to come forward and help in improving the situation.         

Appealing the general public not to allow the anti social elements to foment the situation, Mr. Vaid said that their sinister designs would be foiled. Parents also have to play their role and dissuade the children from disruptive activities.
